Building a solid foundation during the first year is key to a successful college experience. The Office of First Year Experience is committed to the continuing development of a supportive environment that will enable first year students to build the strong base essential for academic and social success at Kent State University. We are here to ease the transition to college life and through a variety of programs and services. The office is poised to have an impact on students at the time of entrance to the university, throughout the first year, and beyond. Through a balance of challenge and support, we strive to develop students who will embrace risk, value differences and take responsibility for their decisions while on their path toward personal success. It is with care and determination that we initiate this mission in partnership with our students and the entire Kent State Community.
