January 1

Assignment on website for Fashion Design students: http://www.fashionschool.kent.edu. Students may begin submitting their portfolios.

Portfolio assignment is required to be completed by those academically eligible for Admission to The School of Fashion Design, no earlier than January 1, 2008, and no later than February 1, 2008.

January 2

Bill payment due for Spring Semester 2008 • Pay in Full OR • Pay thirty-four percent (34%) on the Installment Payment Plan

Payments received after the due date are assessed a late charge if received before classes are cancelled. Read your bill for detailed information.

Early January

Submit FAFSA for 2008-2009 Academic Year

Should be submitted each year at this time.

January 2 – January 19

Spring textbooks are available at the University Bookstore in the Kent Student Center. Students should shop early for best selection of used books.

Students should bring their class schedules. SAVE SALES RECEIPTS.

January 13

Residence Hall Move-In

All students move back into the Residence Halls.

January 14

Spring Semester 2008 Classes Begin

KSU students begin classes.

January 15– 18

Priority Application for Tutoring: Academic Success Center, 207 Michael Schwartz Center, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, M-F

Early registration for mathematics tutoring is especially important.

January 18

This date is when payments are due for students registering, adding classes, receiving housing assignments, etc. between January 3 – January 18

No payments are processed after this due date. Classes are cancelled for all students who have not paid.

January 21

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

No classes; offices closed.

January 22

Last day for Spring 2008 textbook refund with a receipt

Sales receipt is mandatory.

January 27

Last day to Drop and Add classes for Spring 2008

See Advisor Prior – No “W” on transcripts.

January 28 - March 30

Course Withdrawal Period

See Advisor Prior – “W” is assigned to withdrawn coursework.

February 13

Second installment due for students participating in the Installment Plan

Students on the Installment Payment Plan must pay the second payment by this due date. Payments received after this date are assessed a late fee ($30).

March 1

Available to Freshmen on “Flash Fast”.

Spring Recess

No classes; offices open.

March 24

Spring Semester 2008 classes resume

KSU students resume Spring semester classes.

March 30 – April 5

Honors Week

Celebrating the intellectual and artistic life of KSU.

April 11

“Jock Jams” (Time and location to be determined)

Athletic Department’s fund raiser for the American Cancer Society

April 27 – May 10

Students may sell textbooks back to the University Bookstore. They may also sell them back at Tri-Towers and Eastway.

Receive up to 50% of purchase price on textbooks, regardless of where they were purchased.

May 4

Spring Semester 2008 classes officially end

Prepare for Final Exams.

May 5– 11

Final Examination Period

Final Exams are taken.

May 14

Final Grades

Available to all students on “Flash Fast”.
