“Whether my advisee is a computer science major or not, I am interested in finding out a student’s life goals and values.  On the basis of this information, the two of us can explore the student’s educational and career goals and then determine what is the best academic program for the student to follow….By staying in touch with my former students and advisees, this provides us with a chance to continue our growth on the personal, academic, and career levels, and it also helps to enhance the reputation of Kent State University.”

While I believe in the value of the student involvement as layers to be added on to the experience to add texture and richness, the primary purpose of a person entering an educational setting is to learn.  Whether it is to pursue a degree job training for a specific career, or to expand their knowledge in general, their number one responsibility is to be a student.  To this end, I feel my number one responsibility is to help them achieve their goals and help them make sense of what higher education is and how to navigate it.”
